Flavors of York™
A Culinary Experience is an exciting fundraiser and upscale evening of food tasting, auctions, music, and prizes involving the whole York community.
Some of our York’s top restaurants, caterers, and confectioners… and approximately 500 guests.
The Flavors of York™ will be held at the Wyndham Garden, York in November 2018. (VIP only access 5pm until 6pm).
In addition to the wonderful food, there will be raffle auctions, music, and giveaways throughout the evening.
The Flavors of York™ is being presented by York’s Temple Beth Israel to benefit TBI and it's Doing Good for Goode™ project. The project works to enhance the educational experience of students at the Alexander D. Goode Elementary School in York City. Goode Elementary School is named for TBI’s former spiritual leader, who died during World War II. He was one of the Four Chaplains who gave up his life vest so others could live when the USTS Dorchester was torpedoed in the icy waters of the North Atlantic.
The event is designed to give more than 500 guests a sample of what each restaurant does best. A sample of entrees or appetizers is recommended but you are welcome to offer what you believe best represents your business. Because of Jewish dietary laws, please do not use pork or shellfish in your offerings.
We will provide more details on the logistics for the event soon, but each participant can expect one (1) eight foot table, tablecloth, name placard for each business, and electric. You will not have access to the Wyndham Garden’s kitchen, so please come with your dishes already prepared. Please bring your own serving utensils, chafing dishes, sternos, lights, candles, extension cords and any decorative table arrangements or advertising media you many need.
Guests will receive a plate and fork. We ask that you bring small plates for your food if they are not single bite size servings. If your dish requires other utensils please plan to provide them. Each restaurant will have access to the Ballroom early. Please be ready to start serving at 5pm until the end of the event. (VIP only access 5pm until 6pm).
We suggest that your samples are prepared bite size, this makes it easy for guests to try and will ensure that you do not run out of your samples. If you sample is something that needs to be plated please have a few prepared in advance to keep the lines flowing.
